United States to Sign CRPD

On Friday, July 24, President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the intention of the United States to sign the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the first human rights treaty of the twenty first century.
HPOD Executive Director Michael Stein attended the White House celebration, which also commemorated the 19th anniversary of the landmark civil rights legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The CRPD will be signed by the United States at the United Nations on Thursday, July 30st.
